Swiss designer Michel Bussien has created these beautiful chair-shaped greenhouses to help foster the growth of trees into chairs, so that they can be brought straight from the soil into the living room once they’ve matured. Bussien uses fast-growing willow trees to form the chair’s supporting structure and a Russian vine to help keep the tree’s shape as it grows. A fully grown chair is then released from its greenhouse and cut at its anklets just above the soil for transplant into the home.7 examples of living furniture
